We've been hearing about a Snooki / Jwoww spin-off for over a year now, with confirmation of the series by MTV in April 2011. Now, details have emerged about where they'll be.
According to Rory Chadwick, a well known Hobokenite who owns "Midtown Authentic," the duo has officially signed a lease on their own Brownstone in Hoboken.
"They might be renting in Jersey City too - seems production is unsure which city to use so they are going to rent 2 for now and likely use 1 of them," Chadwick stated.
Chadwick is not thrilled about this. He and other businesses in the neighborhood are trying to petition to keep them out of their wholesome family community.
Back in April, JWoww told MTV News, "We just wanted to buy a house together. She wanted to get out of her dad's and I wanted to move out of the house everyone could see on TV, so they (MTV) were like, 'Let's shoot it!'"
Production on the series was set to begin at the end of last year, so they are already behind schedule. Hopefully we'll get to see the final product (which will be 12 episodes) by the end of this year.
My request for comment from Snooki went unanswered.
UPDATE: The Mayor Hoboken has just declined the permit for MTV to film this spin-off stating that having them in town would be "unnecessarily degrading [to residents'] quality of life." Ouch.
I hope these two gals can get out of their lease.. on to Jersey City (as long as the permit isn't denied there, too)!
